Join in the celebrations and show your support for the City of Ottawa’s bid to bring the 2021 Canada Summer Games to Ottawa by attending a launch party at City Hall.
Date: Thursday, January 12
Time: Noon to 1 p.m.
Location: Marion Dewar Plaza, Ottawa City Hall, 110 Laurier Avenue West
Paid parking: Available at City Hall and on surrounding streets
This event will be held outdoors. Participants are advised to dress appropriately.
The celebration will be hosted by Mayor Jim Watson, Councillor Jody Mitic, City of Ottawa Sports Commissioner, Ottawa 2021 Bid Committee Co-chairs Cyril Leeder, President of the Ottawa Senators Hockey Club, and four-time Olympian Sue Holloway.
There will be plenty to experience during the event:
- Canada Games alumni athletes, such as Ottawa Senators defenceman Chris Phillips, will mingle with the crowd and sign autographs
- Free BeaverTails and hot chocolate (while supplies last)
- Live music by the Jackson Miles Band
- Skating on the Sens Rink of Dreams
