As part of the O-Train Confederation Line project, construction of future light rail transit (LRT) stations and guideway continues this fall and winter as the Transitway between Hurdman and Blair remains closed to convert the Transitway to LRT.

The Transitway between Hurdman and the lower level of Lees Station will now be closing on December 20, 2015 and includes the Rideau River Transitway Bridge.  The next phase of the closure of the Transitway from Lees Station to Laurier Station will occur in the spring of 2016.

Rideau River Transitway Bridge Closure

WHY:             Advance works are required to upgrade the Rideau River Transitway Bridge.

WHAT:           Buses, pedestrians and cyclists will be detoured during this closure.

WHEN:          Rideau River Transitway Bridge will be closed as of December 20, 2015.

WHERE:        Construction will occur within the construction staging area. Fencing and signage will be in place indicating the parameters of the area between Hurdman Station and Lees Station.

Sidewalks and Multi-Use Pathways

Sidewalks and pathway access will be detoured throughout the Rideau River Bridge construction. Signage and advance notice will be provided indicating detour routes available.

OC Transpo

As a result of the Transitway closing from Hurdman Station to Lees Station, OC Transpo is currently working on a service adjustment plan to meet the needs of those impacted by the closure and for those in the community using their service.  Details will be provided well in advance of the closure.  For further details, please visit www.octranspo.com.
