This Canada Day, visitors from across Canada and around the world will arrive in the Nation’s Capital to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday. In order to create extra accommodation space to allow as many people as possible to enjoy the Canada Day festivities, Ottawa is offering a unique short-term Urban Camping experience in select City parking lots and green spaces for tents and RVs as a family-friendly option for accommodations.

Visitors can book a spot to park a camper or pitch a tent from June 29 to July 4. There are many locations to choose from across Ottawa, where campers will have access to washrooms, showers and other site amenities. Early bird registration for Urban Camping will begin on Monday, January 16, 2017 at 9 a.m. A limited number of Voyageur (five-night) packages will be available for sale on ottawa.ca at a reduced rate. Regular registration for both Voyageur (five-night) and Portage (three-night) packages will begin on Wednesday, March 1, 2017.

This initiative is being offered in collaboration with Ottawa 2017. Stay informed on plans for Canada’s 150th birthday celebrations in the capital: visit ottawa2017.ca and follow @2017ottawa on Twitter (#Ottawa2017) and on Facebook.
